Welcome! We are so excited to welcome your child into our Catholic faith community at St. Peters!
Parents wanting their child Baptized at St. Peter’s must attend the St. Peter’s Baptism Preparation Class (only need to attend once). The class is approximately 1 ½ hours in length.
It is strongly encouraged that parents attend prior to the birth of their child but it is not mandatory to do so. Your baby/child is welcomed to attend class with you—no need to arrange for a babysitter.
A candidate for Baptism must have at least one sponsor, or godparent.
- The godparent cannot be the mother or father of the one to be baptized.
- The godparent must be at least 16, be a Catholic who has been confirmed, and has received the Holy Eucharist.
- There can be two godparents, a man and a woman.
- Non-Catholics cannot be godparents, but can be admitted as a witness to Baptism
Baptism Preparation Class is held on the 2nd Monday of every month at 7:00 pm, excluding August. Class is not held on a Holy Day of Obligation.
The class is held in the Youth Ministry Room, located on the church’s main level—upon entering the vestibule of St. Peter’s, go to your LEFT, and the Youth Ministry room in straight ahead at the end of the hall.
Please complete the online registration or you can contact the Parish Office at 402-423-1239. Pre-registration is REQUIRED by 12 noon the Friday prior to class.
